"From the ashes of the soviet empire, from the flames of history, rises the proxy. Post 9/11 rave vibes cloaked in muscovite angst. The future and the past rolled up."
- TIGA

The Proxy’s ascent to the top of what can only be described as Electro Rave has been rapid to say the least. His story reads like a Tolstoy from his native Russia’s epic bookcase, and epic is most certainly a word to use when describing The Proxy’s presence and command of a room demanding more. The best bit is this is only the beginning and already he’s THIS good.

From his hometown just outside Moscow, his passion for music started with breakdance and hip-hop before discovering his beloved Electronic music. DJing to packed out clubs every weekend in Moscow’s district he soon discovered that he had a talent for writing music as well as playing it. Tracks written for fun become something more as The Proxy decided it was time to take his own brand of experimental Electronic squeaks, beats, bass and other blends to the world.

The Myspace generation was making itself heard and a profile is a powerful thing in the hands of music maestro. Launching himself with 2 key tracks that were perfected and polished he approached Boyz Noize and Tiga as his two favourite producers and djs. He was faxed the next day from Tiga’s office, offering him a contract. Turbo Recordings had found its protégé.

The rest is history. Playing some of the world’s hottest dance floors from Gatecrasher and Fabric in the UK, Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Social Club in Paris, amongst others in Germany, France, Spain, China, Japan, Sweden, Switzerland… you could most definitely say he was a man in demand! Flying out from his Russian hometown every weekend to play, his supporters include music royalty such as Erol Alkan, Justice, Soulwax and the Ed Banger crew to name but a few. Having already played alongside names like Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Justice, Boyz Noize and of course Tiga, The Proxy has already firmly reserved his place in the Electronic hall of fame.

His first single ‘Destroy’ became an immediate anthem, championed by djs and frenzied crowds alike, his follow-up ‘Decoy’ has been dubbed THE post-nu-rave anthem of 2008 and was followed up by the hauntingly beautiful ‘Dance in Dark’.

For The Proxy, AKA "the Russian kid”, 2009 is sure to be his year. ‘Raven’ has torn up dance floors globally and as he releases his debut album on Turbo and continues to bring floors across the world to fever pitch with his live sets, he truly is one of the freshest and most dynamic sounds around. We wait with baited breath to see what this young Muscovite sensation will serve up next. Whatever it is, you know it’ll make you raise your Kalashnikovs and join the Russian revolution that IS The Proxy.

THOMAS VON PARTY (Canada)

Keeping his finger dipped in every industry pie, the former 'Lord of the Marionette' has featured on Top of the Pops and even Cirque De Soleil, has directed music videos for Tiga and currently divides his time between working on original productions and designing the visual show for the Turbo World Tour. After teasing us last year when he supported The Presets around the country, this good time-machine will be treating us to the full Neon-Montreal experience. He hosts and curates the ever growing Turbo podcast and is currently at work on his first productions. A resident at “Neon” in Montreal since its beginning in 1998, he has toured extensively with Turbo and Tiga; equally comfortable alongside hard edged electro artists as he is tripping out with techno journey men.
